Key decisions

Platform strategy
Full custom build, replacing Beehiiv entirely
x
Stay on Beehiiv, bolt on a dashboard and bot separately

One system sharing one subscriber record beats six SaaS tools that don't talk to each other, and it removes a per-subscriber platform fee that scales against Syan forever.

Migration approach
Zero-downtime cutover: full subscriber base and article archive migrated
x
Cold-start on the new platform, ask subscribers to resubscribe

Didn't want to lose a single subscriber or the SEO equity built into years of existing articles.

Email infrastructure
Custom email marketing platform, built on Brevo
x
Keep sending through Beehiiv's built-in tool

Automation logic and subscriber data live in one system with the CMS and Stripe, not split off inside Beehiiv's separate tool. Brevo handles delivery, we own everything built on top of it.

Community management
Telegram bot handling premium access and moderation
x
Manual moderation by Syan and Faolan

A premium community should scale with subscriber count, not with how many hours the founders spend moderating it.

01

The Beehiiv ceiling

Syan had built a real audience on Instagram and was already making money from it through Beehiiv: a newsletter, a paid tier, real subscribers. It worked. It also had a ceiling.

Beehiiv is a newsletter platform. It's not a member dashboard, it's not a premium community tool, and it's not built around one brand, it's a shared platform serving thousands of publishers. Syan wanted new subscription plans built around what his audience actually needed: real portfolio transparency, a premium community, tools that felt like his product, not a newsletter with a paywall bolted on.

02

The verdict

Before scoping the build, the first thing Rikaz did was tell Syan what not to build. That single call saved weeks of development that would have gone into features the audience didn't actually need yet.

03

Same subscribers, zero downtime

Every existing Beehiiv subscriber moved to the new platform. Every published article moved with them, migrated into a custom-built CMS instead of left behind on Beehiiv or copy-pasted by hand.

04

One system instead of six

The finished platform: a member website, a financial dashboard, a custom CMS for publishing, a custom email marketing platform built on Brevo, Stripe-gated subscription tiers, and a Telegram bot running the premium community. Beehiiv isn't part of the stack anymore, it isn't needed.

05

The numbers since launch

Subscribers have doubled versus the Beehiiv baseline as of September 2026. Conversions are up 60%+. Monthly growth is running at 18%.

06

Still running, still answered at midnight

FS Analytics runs on Witsberry's RUN retainer after launch, monitoring, patching, and support on call, not just business hours.

Tech stack

I had built a decent audience on Instagram and was already monetizing through Beehiiv, but I knew I was leaving revenue on the table without a proper product. Witsberry didn't just build something that worked; Rikaz told me what features not to build, which saved me weeks of wasted development. The product they shipped fit my audience perfectly. Conversions jumped 60%+, we hit 18% monthly growth, and the ongoing support has been incredible.
